Italian Retail Investor Put a Record €90bn into Bonds
After years of outflows, Italian retail investors rediscovered their love for bonds in the first half of 2022, just as long-term interest rates started to rise. This trend continued, culminating in a record investment of €90bn in the first half of 2023. This is by far the largest amount of any European country representing 51% of invested Euros. Germany is a distant second with around €50bn of bond investments.
