German Wages With Record Increase
Key Insights
– The German Wage Index increased by 4.0 (3.5%, Δ 1 quarter) to a total of 118.6
– This is the largest increase in over 25 years (since start of the time series 31.03.1996)
Addition:
We have learned from André Kühlenz that a (large) part of the increase is supposedly due to COVID-19 bonus payments as Deutsche Bundesbank pointed out on page 66 in its recent monthly report.
