Stereotypical, but Younger Than Average
The 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics (also known as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel) has been jointly awarded to Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, and James A. Robinson of the University of Chicago, IL, USA “for studies of how institutions are formed and affect prosperity”.
In terms of statistics, such as gender, country and university affiliation the vintage 2024 is almost stereotypical. In terms of age it is younger than average:
- 100% male (Ø 1969-2023: 96.8%)
- 60.7 years old (Ø 66.9)
- 100% US (Ø 81.7%)
- 67% MIT & 33% Chicago (Ø 8.6% & 15.1%)
